General Information

  1. All students must take 180 credit hours of a foreign language before successfully completing their programme of study. This can be accomplished by choosing either 30 or 60-hour courses per semester.
  2. Foreign language courses are incorporated in the model curriculum of studies for semesters 3, 4 and 5.  
  3. All students admitted to the Faculty after the academic year 2013/2014 must pass the university English exam at C1 Academic level  before successfully completing their study programme.

Detailed rules and guidelines for students

Sem 3
(60 h)
All students are  required to take a placement test.Students that have not passed their C1 examA course in Academic English at C1 level.
Allocation to groups is based on the placement test results.
Students earn 4 credits for course completion.
Students at C2 level and native speakersThe C1 exam may be deemed passed on presenting a recognised language certificate or a foreign (English) secondary school-leaving certificate (grade 3,0 automatically awarded) and delivering an academic presentation (the final exam grade raised to 4,0, 4,5 or 5,0), depending on the quality of the presentation.

A course of English at C2 level or another language is to be attended until all the remaining free credit hours have been used (including Polish for foreigners).
