Your faculty may require that you have a certificate of C1 Academic level of English (please check with your faculty office). If so,
You may register any of the following certificates:
- IELTS certificate with a score of 7.5 or above
- TOEFL certificate with a score between 100 – 120
- C2 Certificates (CPE, TELC) with a passing grade or above
- C1 Certificates (CAE, TELC) with a B grade or above
- GCE A Levels, including a grade for English
- US High School Diploma or SAT certificate (above the benchmark)
- an IB Diploma.
Please note that no other certificates will be accepted.
Please submit a copy/a scan of your certificate to the English-studies coordinator, Joanna Szymańska, MA (Joanna.szymanska@pw.edu.pl).
No C1 language certificates
Should you not have any of the above certificates:
- you may try to obtain one independently (by taking any accepted international C1 Academic exams)
- you may take the C1 Academic Exam held at the Warsaw University of Technology three times in an academic year; all information about this exam on: https://www.sjo.pw.edu.pl/studies-in-english/c1-academic-exam/c1-examination-in-academic-english/;
C1 Academic English courses are offered by the FLC in preparation for this exam. If you wish to participate in a C1 Academic English course, please write and e-mail to joanna.szymanska@pw.edu.plat the very the beginning of the semester to apply. To do that, you need a written statement from your dean’s office that your faculty shall finance your course.
- In the case that you do not have a certificate and have failed the C1 Academic exam, the FLC Director may grant you admission to the conditional C1 Academic oral examination.
